Each year leading up to Spring Showcase, we run a contest to see who can log the most time spent playing their assigned pieces and showcase selections at home.  (Otherwise known as PRACTICE!) It's BOYS against GIRLS!  We keep track and post periodic updates on which team is in the lead, and what students are in the running for our individual honorable mentions of Most Individual Time Logged, Most Consecutive Days Practiced, and our 'It Shows' Award.  

What's the team prize??  ICE CREAM FOR THE WHOLE WINNING TEAM! At our studio's annual Summer Ice Cream Party at Andy's in Spring Hill, the winning team gets FREE ICE CREAM!  And the rights to say, "We won!" until next years challenge.

SO.  Be sure you are entering ALL OF YOUR PRACTICE TIME in your student portal.  A few things to keep in mind:

• Practice time MUST be entered into the practice log through your student portal

• A 10 minute minimum is required for the entry to count 

• You can have more than one entry in a day!  Each must be 10 minutes to qualify.

• All entries must be dated between WEDNESDAY, May 1 and SATURDAY, June 1 at midnight.

• Watch your inbox and our social media for practice tips!

• You do NOT have to perform at Showcase to be on the winning team!  ALL STUDIO STUDENTS TAKING WEEKLY LESSONS ARE INCLUDED IN THIS CHALLENGE!

Hello SMS Family!

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!  We FINALLY have a location for our Spring Showcase!  We work to keep participation in our showcases free to all students.  Participation is encouraged, and all students have been automatically registered for our free showcase.  Family and friends are invited to attend.  

We are SO excited to once again offer this community service opportunity for our students, and serve the community of seniors at the The Reserve!  The Reserve is a Senior Living community here in Spring Hill.  There is a beautiful grand piano in the community room, where we will present our Spring Showcase.    The Reserve staff and residents are excited to have us come!  

Here's what you need to know.

When:  ** NEW DATE ** Sunday, June 2, 4:00pm

Where:  The Reserve of Spring Hill, 2000 Reserve Blvd, Spring Hill, TN. 37174

RSVP:   To stevensmusicstudio@gmail.com with the expected number in your party, including all extended family, friends and your students that will be attending.

Dress:  Nice Casual.  Please, no flip flops, shorts, sweat pants/shirts, tank tops, graphic t's, etc.  Nice jeans are fine.  We want to look clean, polished, and professional, even if dressed  comfortably.

Light refreshments will be served.  After our last performer, we encourage you stay for a few minutes, enjoy the refreshments and meet some of the Reserve residents before you go.

Voice Camp & Intensive

When:   July 15-19

Who:   Singers 12 and up

Summer Voice Intensives are BACK!  

Five hours spread out in one hour sessions over 5 days of individual training, 

and students walk away with a recording at the end of the week.  SPACE IS LIMITED.

GROUP VOICE CAMP DETAILS COMING SOON!

Composition 101 Camp

When:   June 17-21, 10:00am-3:00pm

Who:   Teens with 1-2 years of piano under their belt interested in not just songwriting, but composing instrumentals, 

film scores and even gaming music

Dive into the anatomy of composing - the science of good compositions.  The bones of a 'good song' transcend time and genre.  Students will apply principles in an individual and group setting, creating original compositions to be shared on the last day.
